Mad Science

Mad Science of St. Louis at the Museum of Transportation
On the 4th Saturdays of February, March, April, September & October, plus 1st Saturday in December, Mad Science of St. Louis will host high-energy, interactive science workshops to help your troop earn their Brownie patch or Boy Scout requirement in one visit!

Brownie Girl Scouts Home Scientist Badge (Change-It group)
The girls will participate in experiments and demonstrations which will fulfill step 1 of the badge requirements. 1. Crystal Formation

Webelos Boy Scouts Scientist Badge (Technology group)
The boys will complete all of the following experiments and demonstrations to complete the requirements for this badge.

  1. Bernoulli's Principle: Under Pressure
  2. Newton's Laws of Motion: Rocket Demo, Rockin' Rockets & Aerodynamics (Camp Week 4), Forces
  3. Air Pressure: Under Pressure
  4. Crystal Formation: Che-Mystery
  5. Center of Gravity: Forces, Great Gravity
  6. Optical Illusions: Optical Illusions
  7. Fog: Walloping Weather

Tiger, Bear and Wolf Scouts
The boys will earn the Academic Science Belt Loop.

Fees & Payment Policy

Full payment required at time of reservation. Discounted train & trolley ride tickets may be purchased when making original reservation during seasonal operation. Group admission tickets ($3.00) may be purchased for siblings at time of reservation (but they may not attend class).

If you purchase additional train or trolley tickets, but cannot use them due to inclement weather or mechanical difficulty the day of your visit, you may request a voucher that includes free admission for a later date. Call 314-968-6885 ext 5. after your visit to request vouchers.
