Boy Scout Programs offered February - May & September - November.
Reservations required.
1st Saturday of the month, Railroad Merit Badge:
A museum staff member, who is Merit Badge Counselor Certified, will lead your scout through activities to earn the Railroad Merit Badge. There must be a minimum of 5 scouts registered for the class for it to be held.
Reserve Railroad Merit Badge Class
- 12:00 - 4:00 pm
- Class is limited to 16 scouts
- Boys must be at least 12 years old & have a 1st class rank
- $25.00 per scout
2nd Saturday of the month, Tiger Cub, Bear & Wolf Scout Programs:
Tiger Cubs: Class will fulfill the "Visiting a Museum" (1G) and "Making a Model Boat or Plane"(Elective 17) requirements. Reserve Tiger Class
Bear Scouts: Class will fulfill " Research a Famous American" (3B) and "Visit a National Registry Site" (3D) requirements. Reserve Bear Class
Wolf Scouts: Class will fulfill " Visiting a Museum" and "Building Models". Reserve Wolf Class
- 45 minute classes
- Tigers offered at 9:00 am, Bears at 10:30 am, Wolves at 12 noon
- Limited to 20 scouts each class
- $20.00 class fee per scouting group plus group admission to the museum ($3.00 per scout;$4.00 per adult - 2 leaders are free)
3rd Saturday of the month, Traveler's Badge (Webelos):
Reserve Webelos Class
- 60 minute class
- Offered at 9:00 & 10:30 am
- 20 scouts per session
- $20.00 class fee per scouting group plus group admission to the museum ($3.00 per scout; $4.00 per adult - 2 leaders are free)
4th Saturday of the month: Mad Science Workshop (see Science Workshops for more information)
Full payment required at time of reservation. Ddiscounted train & trolley ride tickets may be purchased when making original reservation during seasonal operation. Group admission tickets ($3.00) may be purchased for siblings at time of reservation (but they may not attend class.)
